Christmas Eve Celebrations!

Christmas Eve dinner this year was at Tiger and Allison's house. It's always a treat to get to go there! They are wonderful hostesses. We usually have the festivities at Garrett and Stacey's house, but because of the birth of their sweet new baby BOY, Tiger and Allison gave them a little -much needed - break this year. Garrett Jace Jones was born on Dec. 17th, 2011! He is just the sweetest thing!

Looked outside one day and found a little fox relaxing in my front yard. You never know what animal you will find in your yard living in CO! The kids love these animals--sometimes a little too much. They think they can chase them around and get very close! Thank goodness this fox was pretty tame.

2 out of the 4 of my kids are now Baptized!! CRAZY!! I think that means I'm just getting older. Wesley had an amazing day for his baptism. It was unique in that he got to get baptized in Utah. It was great to have so many family members there to be there with him on his special day! Thanks to his very talented, Aunt Carrie, who made these cute invitations!!

Wesley's cousin Emily and Aunt Sarah both have amazing voices and sang such a beautiful song for him. His Aunt Tina accompanied them on the piano(she is amazing too) . We are grateful to have such talented family!!

Grandma Shirlene did a special talk on "Baptism." We sure missed Grandma Jones who, even though she's gone on a mission, still made Wesley his special Baptism board(she makes one for each grandchild). Grandma Shirlene used it in her talk as well!! Grandpa Paul gave the talk on the Holy Ghost which was quite the hit with the kids. Rumor has it that the other grandkids are requesting Grandpa Paul to speak at their baptisms in the future. He had some great props that he gave to Wesley for his talk.

I sure love this boy!! Wesley is a sweet spirit and just came the sweet boy that he is! I can't take credit for his sensitive demeanor. He loves life and most importantly people and always tries to do what's right!! He is an awesome example to his friends and his classmates especially in Primary. There have been countless times that we hear what a great boy Wesley is in his primary class. There is a sweet little girl with minor speech problems in his class. Her parents have told us how thankful they are to Wesley in making her feel comfortable when others maybe aren't treating her as nice. I am so excited to see who this little boy grows up to be(as long as he doesn't do it too fast)

Drake got lucky in November and got to go with his Dad to the Bronco game!! It ended up being a great game! Tebow was on fire and made a huge comeback to win it!! Too bad they stunk it up in the playoffs!! We still love Tebow though!! What an amazing guy!! Such a good heart and a good person!! Here's to next year Tebow!!

My boy after my own heart!!! Wesley has become quite the soccer player. His team has moved up to play against older boys and they are still rockin' everybody!! His team has been together for a few seasons now and I think this spring we are going to get them all to try flag football for a change. We'll see which sport they decide is their favorite????

So I decided it was finally time to be one of the Mom's to go on a field trip with one of my kids. So I took Brigg and we met Wesley with his class at hudson gardens. My most favorite part of the whole thing is watching these 2 brothers have so much fun together!! Wesley was so proud of Brigg and had to take him everywhere and show him off to everyone. We had a great time together looking at all the huge pumpkins! Brigg was in heaven following his big brother around!

Charly started her first soccer season and loved it! She was very aggressive and very tough--you would never find Charly crying out on the field if she got knocked down or even kicked by the boys she played against. She is a tough little cookie!! She even scored quite a few goals on those mean boys too! We are so proud of her and hopefully to her Mom's pleasure --keep the girls soccer skills coming!!

She was especially super excited to receive her very first trophy ever--

So while we were in Lake Powell Mike's sweet cousin, Alisa watched our little Brigg for us!! We could not have been happier with having him stay with the Hillan family!!

This is a picture that Alisa just happened to catch(not sure how she did that) of Brigg looking at a picture of Mike and I holding baby Drake, and then soon after kissing the picture---oh my goodness, I about cried when I saw this picture--so tender!! Thanks so much Alisa--we know he was in great hands!! You are truly an amazing person!!

"I am feeling very melancholy at the moment. We got to watch my cousin's little guy for the past week and loved every minute of it...that is until we had to give him back.

My boys kept asking me if we had to give Brigg back and why can't we just keep him. They have been dreading Sunday all week. Now, when they say their prayers, I hear them asking if they can have a baby brother and his name be Brigg.

Everyday the boys would wait and wait for Brigg to wake up. They tried to wake him up on several occasions and succeeded on a few. I loved that morning bed head flapping around and those little feet running in the kitchen for a sippy of milk. I loved how everyone bent backwards to make sure he had the favorite toy or book. I loved how Brigg got so excited when he saw a football or his blanket or when no one was looking he would steal an extra chicken nugget. I loved how he would squeal when he would get chased and the feeling of picking him up and kissing him to death. I love the age of 18 months. I miss all of this.

I knew I loved him but am surprised at how empty and sad I feel now that I have given him back.

Hopefully something of his was left behind and we will have to return it tomorrow."

Drake started his first year of "tackle" football! Oh boy, did we not realize what we were getting into! We are living in a different world now! Just to add to the craziness of fall sports, Drake practices 3 times a week and games on Saturdays. Thank goodness Mike is helping coach, it saves me from all the running around--as if there isn't enough of that with Wesley and Charly both playing soccer! So fun! Drake is on a really great team-the Columbine Rebels!!

They have won the carnation bowl the last 2 years, we shall see what happens this year!!

Well once again--another year has come!! Now to add to the bunch--is our newest member of Elementary school--Charly Jones has started Kindergarten!! Crazy!! My little girl is 5 and ready for her new adventure--in which she has been anxiously awaiting for quite some time now!! There have been many days watching her brothers walk out the door to the bus stop very envious!! She always dreamed of riding on the bus and going to the "big" school!! Well the time is here, my sweet chunky baby is not a baby anymore!! So sad!! But so exciting at the same time!! She is only gone every morning-so we still get her home in the afternoons--Brigg is especially glad to have a buddy around the house--he gets pretty bored of just Mom!!

Off to school to meet their teachers!!

Poor Brigg has no idea of what's about to happen--he's going to lose all his friends!!

Brigg and Charly have become best friends and worst enemies!! Yikes! These 2 are something else. You'd think that Brigg is the older brother the way that Charly will scream running away from him. He's quite the feisty little thing. He's got a real struggle with hitting all the time--especially Charly for some reason--she's actually starting to get a complex that he doesn't like her because he's either hitting her or pulling her hair or pinching her. I think a lot of the problem is she doesn't know how to handle it and gives him a pretty good reaction to just keep on doing it--pretty funny to watch my 5 year old in fear of her 1 year old brother!! In a way, she's probably happy to get away from her mean little brother for a while. They both seem to forget about it when we go to pick her up though. Brigg calls her "coco" ( a nickname that her cousin Gabbie gave her a long time ago--that's a little easier to say than Charly). He's always calling for her as we drive to pick her up and as soon as we get home he gives her the biggest hug!! It's the same with the boys--as soon as he hears them walk in the door he yells there names--"Deek" for Drake and for the longest time he called Wesley "Deek" too, because he couldn't say Wesley. He now calls Wesley "weh-see" . Wesley couldn't be more happy that he can finally say his name!! We have been practicing a lot with him to say Wesley!! It has been really fun for Me to be home with just Brigg for a while--I've really got to enjoy my little baby for once in a long time!! It's a little different to only have 1 child at home!! Kind of a nice change--even though we do miss them at school!!

September of 2011 was a big deal for my sister, Sarah!! It was the big 3-0 !! Oh how we love that birthday! There's just something about saying good-bye to the 20's! I know people say that 30's are the new 20's, so that's what we tried to tell her!! She looks like she's 20, so it really doesn't even matter to her! All of my 4 sisters except for Melinda, flew out to Helena, Montana to go be with our youngest sister as she jumped into a new era of her life--the 30's. She got a job transfer there about a year ago, and has always wanted her family to come see where she lives. She found the cutest condo, and really got to love it there!! Believe it or not, Helena is actually a beautiful little city! She took us on a tour and this was one of our stops--the Capital!

One day she met us for lunch because she was working.

She works right by this happenin little street with fun shops and restaurants.

We definitely did our share of eating, but what more fun can you have than enjoying each other's company while savoring a delicious meal!

After a big meal, we had to find something to work it all off! We were stuffed!! We got a little crazy as you can see--but we were in Heaven--having tons of fun together! People were wondering if we had a little too much to drink--haha!!

They are awesome! They stay on so great and they're so much fun!!

As kind of a surprise to us sisters, we did manage to get outside almost everyday and do something outdoorsy!! You definitely have plenty of things outdoors to do here in Helena! One day we walked down to this Lake and went running around it a few times, we hiked up to Mt. Helena, went paddle boarding and kayaking, and walked around the fun streets with shops and restaurants. This was on our way up to Mt. Helena! My Mom has a horrible knee, so she was so sweet and sat and waited for us with her chair and her book until we got back. It ended up being quite a "straight up" hike, so it took us a little longer than we thought, so by the time we got back it was getting pretty dark. And there my Mom was just sitting in her car reading a book! So Patient!

Oh how I love my sisters--and MOM!!! I could have stayed a whole other week! We had so much fun together like we always do--There's just something about sisters!! One day Sarah had to work, so we stayed in our pajamas til 1:00 in the afternoon just watching Anne of Green Gables! Oh boy is that a long series, but after watching it again, you realize what a great classic that is--especially when you watch it with a bunch of emotional girls--lots of crying going on(not from me of course-haha)!! We had tons of fun and of course it always goes by way too fast!! But even when we have to go home--we still have something else to look forward to--our FAMILIES!!! My kids were so cute, I got home to such a beautiful Welcome Home poster hanging on my garage--so special!!! They were all so excited to show me their creation! BEAUTIFUL!! It was good to be home!!

So Mike had this fabulous idea to take the boys on a fourteener this summer-very ambitious I thought! Seriously--my boys haven't been on too many hikes at all, especially not a fourteener. They decided on Mt. Bierstadt, which was supposedly one of the easier fourteeners(if there even is such a thing?) I personally was a little worried that it would be too hard, but sure enough, they never cease to amaze me! Our good friend's the Lyons' also went a long with them, it was Bill and his 3 boys-- Billy, Easton and Andrew. They left very early Saturday morning and sure enough made it back home early that afternoon. I was so proud of my boys, they had some pretty tough parts of the hike that they had to keep on truckin, but they still stayed strong and kept on going.

HUBER reunion

We headed out to UT for a little Huber time! We had all planned to go for the whole time, but plans changed just a bit when Mike found out that his Granny passed away and the funeral was the same weekend in Farmington, NM. Bummer!! She lived a great life, so it wasn't too sad to see her go--especially when ten years ago when her husband died--laying in the coffin, she asked him to just scoot over and let her in. She's been wanting to go forever! She is welcomed by so many loved ones, especially her own Mother who died when she was just a little girl!! Can't imagine that reunion--how beautiful that will be!! So Mike drove us out and got to go to the first part of the reunion at Lagoon(amusement park)! We made every minute count with our Dad! He took off with the brave boys and went on most of the scary rides, then made it back and went on all the rides Charly could go on--if she was just a bit taller--she'd be on every ride there--she's a brave little thing!! He headed out that afternoon and we met him back home the next week. We sure missed him the rest of the time!

One of the nights we drove up the Canyon to Silver Lake! My Mom and Dad headed up a little earlier to get the dinner all set and ready for us! We hiked around the lake and then ate a delicious hotdog dinner! The kids were in heaven, they love exploring! This place was so pretty--except for all the swarms of mosquitos(I've never seen so many in one place--they were everywhere--so gross!)

My little girl is 5, yep that means kindergarten is coming-and boy is she excited!! Charly sure is growing up! She is such a little sweetheart! Definitely a Daddy's girl when she wants to be, but most of all she's my girl!! My only one for that matter, I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to raise a special little girl. My Mom always told me that she hoped I will have a little girl just like myself and I think I did! Paybacks!! What do you expect--she's got to protect herself from all those brothers!! She definitely has her loud, dramatic, girl moments, but for the most part makes us laugh and smile all the time!! She is constantly asking us for a little sister--she thinks they'll play a lot nicer than her brothers--especially her baby brother who is constantly hitting her, pulling her hair and pinching her whenever he gets a chance! She is a survivor!! Amidst all her sassiness, I love that beautiful big smile, it sure brightens my day(even if it is at 7:30 am)!!

So stubborn- those girls!! She is now trying to grow her hair as long as "Tangled"--we'll see how that goes.

4th of July Festivities

We started off the day with the annual 4th of July Breakfast at the park!! It wouldn't be the Chatfield Ward's breakfast if we didn't have Uncle Sam!! This year he brought us his famous juggling act!! The kids love him and can't wait to follow him around on their scooters and bikes!

After the breakfast, the boys were feeling really grown up and wanted to ride their bikes by themselves home from the park which was about 2 miles away! They were sooo excited and "felt so free" as Wesley would say! The weren't too free as we drove a little slower home so we could check up on them to make sure they were obeying the traffic laws and looking both ways before they cross the street! They did really great and we were really impressed!

In case you ever need to find Wesley at the pool, he'll ALWAYS be in the hot tub!!! "but it's just so freezing" he says after getting in the pool for 2 seconds on a 99 degree day outside. Gotta love that skinny thing!

Another birthday here again!! I can't believe it is my oldest who is turning 9!! That is just crazy--not sure where that time went!

Of course, we wouldn't expect anything but donuts for the big birthday breakfast!!

Drake is my hugger!! Everytime he sees someone he hasn't seen in a while--he is always the first one to give them a big hug!! What a sweetheart!! He really does have a heart of gold!

And look--he's even giving his pesty little brother a hug too--we caught it on camera! They really do love each other!!

His sister gave him a "bee"pillowpet(remember the crazy bee obsession he has--perfect for him!!!) , so that deserved a big squeeze as well!

Called to Serve!

Mike's Mom and Dad decided last year to serve a mission for our Church. So in there papers went, but during the time of preparing all the necessary information for all the papers, Pam found out she had breast cancer! Much to their dismay, this postponed their plans to serve as soon as they wanted to. Pam was seriously amazing, as she always is! She was so positive and put her strength and faith in the Lord that everything would work out for the best! She did everything she was told and had some pretty awesome experiences with her family and knew that the treatments she chose were the right ones for her! As to all of our surprise--(but not really) she fought that cancer right out of her body in 3 months, got the approval of her doctors to serve a mission and still got those papers in only a couple months behind schedule!

We had about 50 people over to our house to open the anxiously awaited "mission call." Everybody had put in their guess, but nobody guessed this one!! Check out Pam's face as she opened it to find out she was called to serve in the Fresno, CA mission! They report to the MTC on the 4th of July! Gotta love that expression--priceless!!

The dreaded MTC---Luke had an especially hard time saying good-bye to his Mom and Dad!!!

So for the first time for our family, we took some time to check out a bunch of Church sites downtown SLC. Our kids have never even been to temple square--I know, so sad! We hit the History museum-which was pretty new, so it's something that Mike and I had never seen either. It was really amazing some of the things they had in there to see. This was a picture of the boys hangin in one of the rooms inside a boat where the pioneers slept in--they felt right at home, since they share a bed still!

What an amazing Temple!!

We couldn't pass up eating on top of the Joseph Smith Memorial building and we definitely enjoyed the fried pickles!! This is taken in the window looking over temple square--

We got to be with my family for a few days as well! I just had to get a picture of my beautiful Mom and Sister!!

Charly was constantly in Heaven playing with her older cousins Harmony and Maddie!! She adores them and I think they like her too. They're always primping her up curling her hair and making her look waaaaay older than she is!

We did a lot of driving on this UT trip. Since we were already in UT, we decided to make the drive to Boise to head to Mike's cousin , Emma's, wedding. Emma used to live with us before Charly was born, so we felt like we were her 2nd parents there for a while! It was a beautiful wedding--which I don't have any pictures of--darn it! Even though we were on the road more than we got to be there in Boise, we were very glad we made the trip to support our long lost daughter!!!

Brigham struggled this trip, I think this was the only 30 minutes of the whole trip that he was asleep--and pretty much screaming the rest!! Good thing Jaclyn was used to babies--She and Nikson joined us for the trip to Boise--so things were a little tight--especially with a crying baby! Good thing Nikson was so good, or we would have died with 2 babies crying!

BYU football camp

Drake and Wesley experienced BYU for the first time!! They attended their football camp and this year they were lucky enough to have it inside LaVell Edwards stadium. I think they got their first real taste of what football is all about--at least Mike seems to hope so! He was feeling young again as if he was back playing in the good ol' days!! So he wishes! The whole family went and watched for a couple days of it, even amidst all the 90-100 degree days. Brigg was hopefully taking notes.

Even though Wesley's true love is Soccer, he still gave it his all and was probably the only one there in soccer cleats. BYU doesn't offer soccer scholarships, so we'll try and keep him very well rounded with many options to get there!!

And how can we forget the 2 cheerleaders. These poor 2 girls are dragged everywhere there 2 brothers go. They are such good sports and at least they have each other! They made sure the table was full of water cups for all the boys and Elizabeth even got to lead them all in jumping jacks. Hard to imagine that they are only 10 months apart.( and Charly is not short for her age)

This was the best part of the whole camp...the guy heading up the camp knew Todd and Mike, so I think one day he told all the boys that Mike used to play at BYU., so at the end of the camp a few boys came up to him and asked him for his autograph--it was hilarious--he was just taking it all in. He never imagined he'd be a celebrity, he even had photos taken with him. These boys were so cute--little did they know how big of a star he was!

My Dad LOVES trains!! He even built his own track in our backyard growing up. He loves them so much he will ride them places even when it takes more than 14 hours to get to where he wants to go. This last June, my Dad picked up my 2 nephews Evan and Eli, boarded the amtrak in UT and headed to CO! They all visited with us here for 3 days before they finished their journey back to UT---but this time they picked up 2 more passengers--Drake and Wesley!! Oh boy, were Drake and Wesley excited! Of course they never have been on a train like this, who does that-right? Well if it wasn't for Grandpa Paul, I don't think they ever would have!!!

As you can see by some snazzy hairdo's(well I guess just 1) it was quite early. They ended up waiting there for a while due to some delays with flooding that they didn't know about.

And they finally arrived after a long 14 hours with a few delays. They said they had a great time and it wasn't really that bad. They had plenty of things to do--movies, books, treats, etc.. needless to say this might be the one time they will have taken the train, but all in all that had a fabulous time and learned a lot a long the way from their Grandpa Paul! Mike and I and the other kids met them in UT, where we drove in our nice and quiet automobile and made it there in 8 hours! Much better!! Thanks to Grandpa Paul for an unforgettable experience!! He even made each boy their own scrapbook from shutterfly of the whole trip!!

Cancun in May--spur of the moment trip with Garrett and Stace, and our great friends, Lauren and Leighton Cartwright!! We literally talked them into coming the weekend before we left! We had a great time and had some of the best food we've ever had!! Here we are at fish fritanga--just looking at this place-you wouldn't think much of it--but boy is it deceiving! This little shack turns into a beautiful outdoor restaurant just behind it with the most amazing chicken and fish tacos you'd ever taste!!

You would think this little guy works for this restaurant by all the wheeling and dealing and luring he did to get us to come there! We even got free drinks he liked us so much. Turns out he was only in charge of the little parking lot right next to it. So nice!!

Back in March, Mike and I along with Garrett and Stacey, took a quick trip out to AZ to visit their cousin Doug and his family! I don't think we've ever wake-boarded in March? I guess when you have the black body suit, you can do anything!! We had a great time just being with Doug and Sara, they are such a great couple and have an amazing family!! Stacey, Sara and I actually made it to Scottsdale and found some great shopping! Thanks Sara for being such a wonderful host!! We love you!!!

Brigg has mastered walking. He is just so proud of himself which he should be. It seems pretty tricky to be little and walk around with a huge basketball. He's officially a walker! We were loving the weather this April day outside in our backyard. One of the not so many nice days in the spring. We had a pretty freezing spring this year! So we enjoyed it while we could. Charly was out building something beautiful in the sandbox, Wesley was freshening his basketball skills, and Drake was tackling his Dad getting ready to play some football! And Brigg just keeps getting cuter and cuter! He kept walking around with his tongue hangin out which is I guess what I did all the time when I was a baby. Can't wait for summer to be outside all the time! We LOVE CO nights, they are just about perfect!!

Thanks to our good friends, The Gentry's, we were able to recreate the unforgettable experience of the Bibbidi Boppidi Boutique! Susan went all out. Charly and Elizabeth were in Heaven all over again! They both went on a little date with their parents to Disney Princess on Ice, and just to get ready for the big night, they were pampered like princesses! Susan fixed their hair just like they did in Cinderella's castle, did their make-up even with pixy dust, and wore their new Ariel dresses! And to top it all off Todd(Elizabeth's Dad) gave them each 1 rose for the special date!

Brigg took his first steps about a month after he turned one. It didn't take him long to take off, once he figured it out it was all over, just like my life is right now--over--haha. Welcome to the "chasing stage!" Besides the fact that he is busier than ever now, I love this stage and seeing his face light up of excitement that he just did it even if his arms are helping him balance as he wobbles from place to place. So exciting!

My little baby turned 1!!! I can't believe it, I guess that's what happens when he's number 4. What a great year we've had spending it with our little Brigg! What an Angel he is! I've never had a happier baby and I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for him! He brings a smile to my face every time I think of him! He melts my heart! I love you Brigg!!

Some of his accomplishments at 1:

Words: dada, mama,Jesus(seriously--he really does! he points to all the pictures at the church and says it very clear), uh-oh, shoes, ball(obsessed!!!), eegghh--oh wait--that's not a word but I hear it way too often!!

Sounds: woof woof, oo-oo/aahh aahh(monkey), snorts like a pig, roars like lions, dinosaurs, tigers and bears--really loud!

Actions: waves bye-bye, blows kisses, shoots a b-ball, dribbles a soccer ball, claps, bobs his head when he dances, tries to run, throws a ball.

And now he finally decided to drink milk. He would not have anything to do with it since I stopped nursing in January. His favorite food would have to be fruit snacks--hands down!

The 1st cake tradition....

this is just about exciting as it gets. He is following in the footsteps of his older brother Wesley. They both didn't really want anything to do with their cake--so funny and so not like Drake and Charly were!

Drake was dying the whole time watching Brigg try to eat his cake. I could just tell he wanted to help him out so bad. So finally since it was getting very anti climatic with Brigg bringing absolutely no excitement, leave it up to uncle Garrett to say--"hey Drake, do want to try Brigg's cake--go ahead you can have a little bit, Brigg's not going to eat it" Well of course Drake got right on that and got down really close to the cake to take a big bite out of it and next thing you know, Mike shoves Drake's face right into the cake--of course totally planned out by his favorite uncle G. Everybody was dying after that-- I have to say though, that Drake was an awfully good sport about it. I can't say I would be laughing after that much cake all over my face! I think he got a few licks out of it all!

Well where to begin??? What an amazing trip we had in January with our wonderful friends the Gentry's--or should we say our tour guides!! The Gentry's aren't just the average family when it comes to Disneyworld, these people dream Disney!! Let's just say they can't remember the last year that they have not been to Disneyworld!! It was so great to just follow them around everywhere we went, I don't think they got too sick of us!? The only bittersweet thing about the trip was missing our little Brigg! He was much better off back home with a sweet little couple in our ward who came to our house and played with him all week! We sure did miss him but were so glad we didn't have him around when we were all enjoying the tower of terror, I don't think he would have appreciated that ride too much. In fact I think Charly wished she would have been home with Brigg when we sort of forced(I mean tricked) her into going on that ride. She was a really good sport and even ended up going on it one more time later. The Gentry's have 3 kids who our kids absolutely adore! There 2nd son Andrew is the same age as Drake and there little girl, Elizabeth is a little older than Charly. They all get along so great! And it even works out that we even love their parents, Todd and Susan! They are such a great family and hopefully they won't mind if we join them next time! We've never had a better trip with our kids, they were in heaven 24/7!!

The one night of rain, the whole park cleared out--but not our crew, we got to go on Toy Story 3 as many times as we wanted-so worth it seeing how the normal wait was at least 2 hrs long!!

This was the coolest tree ever! We called it the tree of life, it was literally amazing! Carvings you would never even imagine! The whole entire tree was covered in amazing carvings of every kind of animal! Truly amazing work! The coolest part about it was inside the trunk of a tree is a whole other world where you go to watch the "bug" show(a definite MUST see in Animal kingdom)

The African Safara was another must see, talk about feeling like you are in Africa itself--this ride was crazy! The animals were just out roaming free and you are in this jeep thing with no doors just driving right through. I have to admit I was a little nervous, but it seemed like the animals could care less what we were doing. It was one of my favorites for sure!

Powell--October '10

We took our trip to Powell last fall with a great group. We had almost all of Stacey's siblings and spouses and our good friend's the Cartwrights. Austyn and Brigg were the only kids and they were very spoiled and got tons of attention! The weather is always unpredictable in October, you never know if it will be hot or cold, windy, stormy or beautiful blue skies. Well we had almost all of these except for hot. It started off with the craziest hail storm I've ever seen with golf ball size hail. We got in the houseboat the last second we could before it started coming down hard. The temp. during the week was pretty warm but didn't ever quite meet the quota I love for Powell, I at least need it in the high 80's and 90's. But you couldn't beat the spot we found,

There's nothing like finding out 2 days before Thanksgiving that you are hosting!!! Mike's sweet Aunt, who's house it's traditionally at each year, got so sick right before the big feast. Well since Garrett and Stacey always host Christmas Eve, we were next in line for this holiday! So this is what we threw together at the last minute. It ended up being just perfect and Allison was even able to get out of the hospital and make it over for a little feast for herself. We were so glad that she was ok! There really wasn't much rearranging when the location changed to our house. Everybody still had their same assignments and we went from there. I'm just glad I had the rolls--I can handle that job. There's way too much pressure to master anything else with this Jones Family Thanksgiving. It's not just Thanksgiving--it's A THANKSGIVING FEAST!!! I think I would have to say that half of Mike's siblings agree that Thanksgiving is there favorite holiday--why you ask? Because they are thankful for there jiblet gravy(it really has jiblets in it), nana's mystery stuffing, and of course we can't forget Tanna's deviled eggs, she thought she could get out of this year, but because they are tradition you know her brother Mike would not let that slide--he literally told her she has to bring the deviled eggs. They seriously are so nuts about this food, and it's really good and all but not "giddy" good(he really does get "giddy" just thinking about it) Yes, I have to say he was a little disappointed when he had to go to the Huber Thanksgiving in Montana--not because our food wasn't good, but because he was missing HIS Thanksgiving!! Pathetic I know! Here's a few shots from the big day!

He did look pretty good I'll have to say! I borrowed a vintage baseball uniform and wore my soccer cleats--the easiest costume ever! This was a great Halloween!

St. George Marathon

Well--I did it again....I ran my second marathon. After telling myself I would never run another marathon again, I figured the best thing to get back into shape after having a baby would be just that. So the training began and oh how I dreaded it every morning. One of the hardest things to do at least for me, is starting to run again after having a baby. I was soooo out of shape it was pathetic. But after a couple months of figuring out how to run again, I started the training process with my good friend Rachel. She pushed me so hard which is what I needed to even feel like I could run 26 miles. She is crazy, and does everything she does perfect and gives it her all ALWAYS! So the only reason I even started this thing was because of her--Thanks Rachel for keeping me going!! The St. George Marathon this year was the hottest it's ever been, after a mile of the race I was already sweating---not good--when you still have 25 miles to go!! Needless to say the heat took its toll on me, I was just dead. I also had another excuse why I was struggling--I had some problems with the balls of my feet during training, so I ended up getting orthotics about 3 weeks before the marathon(not the best idea--but my feet were killing me) long story short..I should have purchased bigger shoes but I didn't, so I payed for it by running with a jammed toe for 15 miles. I always heard of people losing toenails from running, but never had that problem-well...now I know why. My toenail is still there but don't know how much longer it will be!

We had a goal to qualify for Boston, but after I realized that wasn't going to happen, I set a new goal to beat my first time. Well after I realized that wasn't going to happen either, I figured I should aim to get below 4 hours. So I guess it took me 3 tries to finish. I think my time was 3 hr 56 min. Good enough-I'll take it. And as I said before "I will never run another marathon again"(well unless I have any more babies I guess:)

I think this was the only time I had a smile on my face...and that was because I finally saw my hubby and baby at mile 21---way too long. He said he tried so many times to see us, but there were so many people and cars that he couldn't get anywhere! I was so bummed that I only saw him once--I think I was just really spoiled with my first Marathon in Logan where I saw him at every station. He is so nice to support me all the time, I'm sure that wasn't too easy trying to get around with a baby the whole time. If I didn't see them when I did, I don't know if I would have finished-there's just something about seeing a familiar face after all that way-Thanks Babe!

Brigg was such a good sport, he just smiled the whole time and

especially loved the airplane ride.

Dad's Surprise Party

My Dad turned the big 7 0 in Aug, so all of his kids decided to plan a surprise party for him. Every single one of us were there including all 25 grandkids. It was a huge success--he had no idea!! Thanks to my sister Holly who put together this invite...

Jaclyn's having a BABY!!

We threw Jaclyn a baby shower while she was here this fall, and luckily she had just found out she is having a boy right before. Congratulations Jaclyn--we are so excited to meet the little guy in January!! I think the little girls are way more excited than anyone--well maybe not as excited as Jaclyn, but they were such a big help with all those adorable baby gifts!

Charly started her first year of school. She loves every minute of it. She attends Foothills Christian Preschool and has 2 really great teachers--Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Toney. My little girl is sure growing up, before I know it this will be high school--aaaaaghhh!! I'm just trying to enjoy her while I can--please don't grow up too fast Charly!! I love you!

I think all the fun just wore her out--here she is sitting at the counter asleep on the stool. Just seconds before all I heard was "Mom, I'm really tired." Who knows what she'll do when she gets into kindergarten! So sweet!!!

Back to School!

I can't believe I have a 3rd grader--and might I add that my 3rd grader is the same height as his teacher--crazy I know. She is the most adorable thing you've ever seen though. I still can't believe that she is the teacher and not a student. Drake loves school and is doing so great!! His strongest subject is probably science, but he also loves to read too. I can't believe he's growing up so fast! My little 1st grader is not so little anymore. Wesley loves school too and is enjoying his teacher as well. We have heard nothing but good things about Mrs. Chase. It sure isn't the same without these 2 little munchkins around the house, it might be a little quieter, but definitely not as exciting!!
