Back to School!

I can't believe I have a 3rd grader--and might I add that my 3rd grader is the same height as his teacher--crazy I know. She is the most adorable thing you've ever seen though. I still can't believe that she is the teacher and not a student. Drake loves school and is doing so great!! His strongest subject is probably science, but he also loves to read too. I can't believe he's growing up so fast! My little 1st grader is not so little anymore. Wesley loves school too and is enjoying his teacher as well. We have heard nothing but good things about Mrs. Chase. It sure isn't the same without these 2 little munchkins around the house, it might be a little quieter, but definitely not as exciting!!

Strong as a Rock

So my sweetest Mother-in-law does a themed Family night for all of her grandkids and some others each month of 2010. She is truly amazing! She is my hope for my kids and keeping them strong--that is her goal--to keep those grandkids of hers strong as rocks!! Each month she's had a special evening planned and then gives each child handouts and pictures that go along with each one to put in their own special binder. The month of July was centered around our freedom. There's always a lesson to be learned in every one. She had flags for each child, had the scout boys post the colors, and then brought along her portable tape player with songs to do a freedom march with their flags. I even caught her in the moment while she was getting a little emotional---what a sweet grandma they have--what an awesome posterity! Oh yes--and she even fed us all dinner--we enjoyed some delicious sub sandwiches and watermelon--and we can't forget Mamie's star rice krispy treats. It just happened to fall on Charly's actual birthday so we all got to have cake and ice cream too. Oh what a night--Thanks to Grandma Jones for keeping the family close!! WE love you!
Here's to Grandma-
-once again teaching her grandchildren another valuable lesson!

Oh the Princess Party!

We had a joint princess party for the 2 princesses--Charly and Jocelyn who are 1 day apart. I think it was a success with getting makeovers, updo's, painting nails and frosting cookies. Since I'm still trying to figure out how to do girls hair, my sweet sister-in-law, Mamie, came and helped with the updo's--she is fabulous!

She's looking way too old here.
I think this might be the last makeover she gets!
